The Department of Economics is established with B.A. Economics with Islamic Finance degree course sanctioned in 2015. The department actively involves in the academic activities such as participating in seminars, workshops, conferences and other related programmes.

The Department of Islamic finance enhances individual and organizational knowledge and competencies so that they can achieve their strategic objectives through engagement with the Islamic Banking and Finance, Islamic Microfinance and Takaful industries, and promote Shariah compliant teachings as a medium for economic and financial growth, wealth and prosperity.

Department Mission

To create Awareness, Learning and to develop the Islamic Financial Products to cater for the market needs bringing more and more compatibility between Customers and Islamic Financial Institutions through education, trainings, awareness seminars, product development, publications and consultancy.
